President's Evening 2016

A very enjoyable evening was had by fifty five members and guests at this year's President's Evening, on 10 September 2016 at Bromham Village Hall. Unfortunately Bob Buchanan, our intended MC for the night, had to pull out due to illness on the morning of the event. The role of MC was carried out well at short notice by John Thompson.

Following Grace by Ivan Boemer, the evening was started with an excellent 2 course buffet meal provided by Dawn Hawkins. It was up to her usual standard with plenty of choice and ample quantities. Tea and Coffee after the meal was served by the committee from the hatch.

Guests of our President, Ian Kirk, were Presidents or Past-Presidents, and their consort's, from other EMASS societies. There were representatives from Corby, Huntingdon, Leicester, Northampton and Rushden, who with Ian and Ann, made a Top Table of 12 persons.

Entertainment was provided by the Bedford Scottish Dance Group, taught by George Hogg, our Pipers, Donald & Catherine Reid, and music for dancing was provided by Peter Scatterty.

George Hogg took on his usual role of dance caller, in his own knowledgeable fashion, with some familiar and some not so familiar dances.
